One of the best things about managing a website like this is you don’t have to conform to the slow, silent death that comes with sterilizing everything interesting and unique about yourself into a palatable afterthought that looks vaguely similar to a LinkedIn profile.
Here’s what I’m working on in 2016:
- Hacking at Ziggurat Labs.
- Korean language proficiency.
- Publishing consistent content.
- Self publishing my first book.
- Reading voraciously.
So that’s that. A few words about the blog:
Generally, I write about whatever I want to write about. Most of these topics involve building a future I want to live in.
I still believe in the power of old-school, long form essays that are built upon doing something interesting. My goal is give the universe and my readers something that requires more than a transactional attention span.
These are my field notes.
I’m hard wired to operate well outside of a one-dimensional state of being, and I’m of the opinion that hyper-specialization is a very fragile and boring way to thrive in life.
Wisdom comes with breadth as well as depth of knowledge. The most interesting things happen at the intersection of ideas.
You also won’t find anything resembling management-speak or thought-leadership posturing on here because I can’t stand that shit. What you will find is my best effort in examining and attempting to solve 21st Century problems.
Please enjoy this voyeuristic experiment and learn from the successes and failures I discover along the way.
Ideally, I will learn something from you too.
The best way to keep tabs on all things Patocka related is (obviously) here, but for your convenience you can find a timeline of Patocka epiphany, whimsy, swears, and artifiacts on twitter.
I also have a mailing list of monthly reading and book suggestions for my fellow mutants. You can sign up for that here.
Don’t be scared. I want you with me.
